Team(s) will compete in the global First LEGO League (FLL) "Challenge" Division
FLL Challenge teams engage in research, problem-solving, coding, and engineering to build a robot that navigates missions to score points with the LEGO Spike Prime robotics kit.
Teams prepare all season to compete at a local tournament, where judges provide valuable feedback on their robot, code, and Innovation Project. The final test of their work comes at the Robot Game Table, where they race against the clock to earn the best score and the chance to advance to a regional championship and beyond.
This year's theme is "Super Powered." From the machines that move us, to the food that sustains us, to the wireless technologies that connect us, energy plays an essential role in keeping our world running. During our 2022-2023 season, teams will reimagine the future of energy and power their ideas forward.
Meets Saturdays from 1-2pm
Ages 5-8
Team(s) will participate in global First LEGO League "Explore" Division
FLL Explore teams inspire youth to experiment and grow their critical thinking, coding, and design skills through fun hands-on STEM learning with the LEGO Spike Essentials robotics kit.
The season ends with a festival, a celebration where students showcase their team models and posters, and share what they’ve learned with senseis, friends, and family.
This year's theme is "Super Powered." First, ninjas will learn about the entire energy journey. Where energy comes from to how energy is used and all the steps in between. Then, ninjas will build a wind turbine, energy storage model, and carousel. They will explore coding and motorizing their team model. They will create their own energy journey and build different ways energy is captured, stored, distributed, and consumed.
